RADON TESTING 

   

Radon is an odorless, colorless gas produced in the ground when Uranium breaks down. It is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in the US. It rises thru the soil and enters the atmosphere, except when it gets trapped under your house and then seeps thru foundation cracks, construction joints and drain tile and enters your home.

Generally, a home's Radon level can be lowered to a satisfactory level for less than $1000.

Many home buyers look past the importance of having a team of professionals working for them.  All to many people look beyond the benefits of knowledge and experience that can guide them around pitfalls and costly decisions.  Even if the home seller feels they can market and sell their home BEWARE. As the buyer, hire a qualified team to represent you. A realtor to walk you thru the paperwork and a qualified home inspector to scrutinize the property.

  

I inspected this property, being "sold by owner", and found many code violations as well as safety hazards and poor maintenance issues. The roof is a series of shed roofs and from the ground I could tell there was a problem by the sagging that was occurring. During the inspection I found significant amounts of mold in the attic above the sauna and the roof sheathing was failing. The deal fell thru and now this property is “For Sale” again. It is listed as two baths, but the master bath is not functional and the online photos do not show this space. The listing also states the basement is partially finished, but the basement is NOT partially finished since water in the basement forced the basement finishes to be torn out. This owner is being deceptive and unethical. BEWARE ! Hire a team of professionals to protect you thru this major purchase.
